Abalone is a member of the Gastropod (sea snail) family. Abalone shells have been used by seaside cultures for their unique coloring and iridescence in ornamental objects dating back at least 75,000 years. Today, Abalone is considered an Organic Gem.

Fluorite is a transparent mineral that comes in a variety of different colors, and exhibits florescence under ultraviolet light. Nikon and Kodak have used fluorite to make ultraviolet camera lenses that can capture images in outer space. Because of Fluorites high calcium content it is a valuable component in producing fluoride products such as toothpastes for strengthening teeth.
